There are heavy-duty trucks and then there is the Chevy Silverado 2500. Kearny Mesa Chevrolet is now carrying the 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500, the latest version of the strong, powerful pickup you’ve come to rely on for the hardest work imaginable.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 comes with a standard Duramax® 6.6-liter, 401 horsepower gas engine, a 6-speed automatic transmission, and 464 lb-ft of torque. The optional turbodiesel V8 configuration is a hard-charger, with 445 horsepower and 910 pounds of torque per foot yoked to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The V6 engine is rated to pull up to 17,370 pounds (or just under 9 tons) of trailer weight while the V8 can pull up to 36,000 pounds… that’s 18 tons of heavy lifting.
Odds are, you’re looking for a stripped down workhorse of a truck if you’re considering a Chevy Silverado 2500, but it also offers different levels of interior comfort. The cabin has an improved wheelbase and more passenger space, along with optional amenities such as a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats and available extra storage.
A big truck means a lot of space to cover, and your mirrors can only do so much. The 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 provides up to 15 different camera views, allowing the drivers greater spatial awareness and enhanced monitoring when hitching, driving, and backing up. You can even see virtually through the trailer when necessary, as the camera system can make the load you’re hauling transparent as you merge into traffic.
The Chevrolet Infotainment system includes an available dynamic heads-up display which can project your speed, navigation information and safety alerts directly onto the windshield. The Advanced Trailering System allows for customized trailer profiles, with everything available via the myChevrolet Mobile app.
The core of your Chevy Silverado 2500 is the pickup bed. Utilize the new Multi-Flex tailgate’s six different functions, from an inner gate load stopper to a full-width step which can take up to 375 pounds.
The Durabed™ has more cargo space than any other heavy-duty truck on the market. With 12 standard tie-downs, a charging outlet and available LED cargo area lighting, the Chevy Silverado 2500 has your pickup needs covered.
