Our Reviews
Best car buying experience ever. I would definitely come back next time I need a car
On March 21, 2026 I flew to Kearny Mesa Chevrolet to purchase a vehicle. I worked with salesperson Hannah Sauceda, and after inspecting the car we negotiated and agreed on a final total “out-the-door” price. However, once I was in the finance office, the contract did not reflect the agreed price. Instead, it listed the out-the-door price plus an additional $5,000 down payment, something that was never agreed to. When I raised the issue, a meeting was held with Hannah and sales manager Arnie Romer, I was told they could not sell the car at the agreed out-the-door price, even though that was the deal we had just made. When I asked Hannah to confirm our agreement, she would not respond. Attempting to add $5,000 after agreeing to an out-the-door price is highly deceptive, and what was most telling is that neither the salesperson nor the sales manager offered any apology. Extremely disappointing experience and very concerning sales practices.
Absolute worst service department I’ve ever had to deal with. Brought my truck in to have a simple DEF tank leak fixed. Next thing I know the truck is mysteriously in limp-mode due to a sudden cascade of trouble codes and undriveable. Despite telling the service rep I absolutely needed my truck for my work, I get a shrug and “…it’ll be about a month or two before the parts are available. Sorry (not sorry). With no other choice, I had to rent a car for the next couple weeks at which time I started researching the parts that were supposedly unavailable and surprising, I found the same parts were in stock and available at my local NAPA auto. Turns out the dealership couldn’t use those parts because they didn’t have “GM” on the box. Okay, I get it, a dealership isn’t allowed to use non-GM parts, fine, but how about telling me “We don’t have the GM parts, but the parts are available, we just can’t do the work. You’d have to take it somewhere else to get fixed if you can’t leave it.” Instead of leading me to believe I have no choice but to wait up to two months to get my truck fixed. When I went back to Kearny Mesa Chevrolet to get my truck so I could take it to another garage, one of the two batteries were dead, and they refused to help me. I had to get a mobile battery service to come in and replace it. While he was doing the work, he told me the secondary battery was going bad as well, so I had him swap it out as well. Come to find out, it was the 2nd battery causing all the faults and problems. There was no problem with the DEF system. It was a bad battery. After a reprogram, all the trouble codes were gone. It was never the parts the service rep said needed to be replaced. How is it possible that in the two weeks they were supposedly trouble shooting my truck they never once considered checking the batteries? Not only does Kearny Mesa Chevrolet have the worst service department, they apparently have the most incompetent diesel mechanics to boot. Here are a few other bullet points to consider before deciding to bring your vehicle to KMC… They charged me $210 for an oil change they never performed. The Service rep stopped providing updates and returning my calls after two weeks. The acting service manager refused to speak with me in person. Not only would I never bring a vehicle to Kearny Mesa Chevrolet for service, but I will also never buy another Chevy truck. It was literally that bad of an experience. Consider yourself warned. PS: If the “Response from the owner” wants to comment and know more, you have my name and info. You can contact me if you’re really concerned. I doubt it though.
After years of coming to this dealership and often leaving frustrated, I honestly didn’t expect much this time but Fonzie completely changed that. I had a major issue with my car and from the moment I spoke with him he handled everything with professionalism, urgency, and genuine care. He took ownership of the situation, kept me informed and made sure the problem was addressed properly. It’s rare to come across someone in a service department who truly cares about the customer experience the way Fonzie does. Because of him, my entire perception of this dealership has changed thanks to Fonzie.
About two years ago, there was a problem with some cells in the Volt's battery. There was a fairly long delay in receiving whatever they needed to fix the battery, but they kept me posted as to the progress. I very much appreciate their concern for keeping me informed.
Very warm people who are as professional as they are friendly :) I recommend giving them a try if you are looking for some new wheels :)
Service staff was somewhat rude to my wife and didn't listen to issue. Very defensive and acted as if we the customer have no sense of a properly executed oil change is. I was supposed to get a call from the service manager to discuss...never heard from him. Showed video evidence of the issue, but service staff and mechanic completely ignored it along with making statements as if the evidence was never seen or considered. Gave 2 stars instead of one since they replaced the oil a second time within 2 days "free of charge"...however, that is not what we requested (or wanted/needed) or the real issue that was presented. The "professional" oil change is not worth the high cost when minor mistakes cannot be owned up to and handled with professionalism.
Mitchell did a great job of responding to every question and request I made. Working with him around my busy schedule was very efficient and productive. I found the car I wanted, with the right mix of accessories and none of the things I had no desire for. Much appreciation for providing me with the out the door price before I stepped onto the lot. Michael in finance was also a great guy to work with. All in all, the entire purchase process was smooth and pleasant. Something I can't say about all my previous auto purchases.
My experience was great. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend. Well done
Absolutely and without a doubt the best service experience that I have ever had with any dealership. My Service Advisor Greg and Technician Scott were so accommodating and customer service focused that my expectations were blown away. I was definitely treated with consideration and respect. I was allowed to talk with Scott concerning the repairs and even allowed into the service area to discuss the rather difficult repair on my Corvette. My car was kept in a covered stall and Scott was even considerate enough to use my car cover when he was not working on my car. The communication to the customer was something that I wish all dealerships would do, both texts and emails were highly informative and there was even a video of Scott working on my car. All in all I highly recommend Kearny Mesa Chevy to anyone considering taking their vehicle there for service. Ask for Greg and Scott as you will not find better people or a place to have your Chevy serviced.
Excellent customer service they are friendly and the Sale manager And all the people working at the dealer, they help a lot
Salesman Giany is the best. Polite, knowledgeable, friendly, he is exceptional at his Job. I would recommend Kearny Mesa Chevrolet.
Trent was very responsive and addressed all my questions. If he didn't have the answer, he would seek input from others on his team and get back to me as quickly as possible. I felt like Trent was my advocate throughout the purchasing experience.
I had a great experience, went to buy a used work truck but it had been sold by the time I got there. Carter was cool to work with. He searched around to find us a similar vehicle but nothing came close. He presented us with options to buy new and showed us all the incentives available to make it work. He was not pushy at all and left the decision up to us. He worked with me via phone the next day and we got the deal done. He made it super easy and painless unlike past dealership experiences.
DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!!! I had the worst customer service, I took my truck for an oil change and tire rotation. Truck was done and I noticed my tires were not rotated I knew because I had a big scratch on my rear tire, when I got it back that same wheel was still in the same spot. I confronted them and they said they did rotated the tires which was a lie, they took it back and did the rotation. The service guy told me that they didn’t do the rotation because it was not needed but they were still going to charge me the rotation. 10 days later I started smelling coolant and surprised the coolant cap was off the reservoir I guess the tech was trying to retaliate because he got caught. I’m starting to think they don’t even do the oil changes as well since we can’t see it. I would give it a -10 stars.
