A vehicle breakdown can ruin any driver’s day. Maybe the repairs have been a long time coming, or maybe they spring up out of nowhere, either way, they can be a real pain to deal with. To help demystify the process, we’ve assembled this quick guide to OEM Chevy Parts and their warranties.

What are OEM Chevy Parts?

OEM parts, or Original Equipment Manufacturer parts, are vehicle components were manufactured by the same manufacturer as your vehicle. The alternative, aftermarket parts, are manufactured by third-party manufacturers and, while this doesn’t make a huge difference in quality, it can make a difference in how well the parts fit in your engine.

OEM parts, however, were made for your specific Chevy vehicle, and are sure to fit within your vehicle’s engine.

Do OEM Chevy Parts Come with a Warranty?

Yes, they do! With each purchase of a new Chevrolet vehicle in 2021 or later comes the Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty. For the first three years, or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first), comprehensive coverage is offered for any issues relating to defective or underperforming parts within your vehicle’s engine.

Should the technicians at the Kearny Mesa Chevrolet service department need to order a part for replacement, that part also comes with a 12-month, unlimited-mileage warranty to cover you in the event that the part comes defective.

When ordering OEM General Motors parts from our service department, the odds of this are slim, but a little extra assurance is always a good thing!

So don’t ignore that check engine light because your vehicle will thank you in the end! Don’t let a defective part ruin your week. Take your vehicle into the Kearny Mesa Chevrolet service center today to get your engine checked out.
